Spot Africa/Insect Science’s Timothy Hammond and Alan Gordon placed 17th on the 71km third stage of the Swiss Epic in Grachen today.
The South African pair completed the race in 4:01:23.
Team USA Red’s Christopher Blevins and Keegan Swenson won the stage in , beating SCOTT-SRAM MTB Racing’s Matthias Stirnemann and Andri Frischknecht by just three seconds. BUFF SCOTT MTB’s Francesc Guerra and Enrique Morcillo rounded out the podium.

Stirnemann and Frischknecht, however, retained their race lead, 13 minutes clear of BiXS Pro Team’s Hansueli Stauffer and Konny Looser in second.
Ghost Factory Racing’s Barbara Benko and Anne Terpstra won the women’s category in 4:26:45, with Team Canada’s Haley Smith and Catharine Pendrel having still retained their race lead.
