The South African, who rides for BCX, completed the 107km course in 2:28:29 ahead of teammate and fellow countryman David Maree (2:28:56). Third in 2:29:14 was ProTouch’s Reynard Butler, who also hails from South Africa.
The women’s race was won by Namibian Michelle Vorster of Jaguar in 1:58:03. She was followed home by teammates and compatriots Johanita de Waal (2:04:47) and Irene Steyn (2:04:47).
