Theo Erlangsen was the highest-placed South African to qualify for the elite men’s UCI Downhill Mountain Bike Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, today.
Erlangsen and compatriots Greg Minnaar and Johann Potgieter all finished within the top-80 qualification range.

Erlangsen placed 18th 3:10.37, with Minnaar finishing 30th in 3:13.99 and Potgieter 43rd in 3:16.52.
New Zealand’s Brook Macdonald won the qualifier in 3:03.21.
