South Africa’s Alan Hatherly was crowned the U23 cross-country world champion at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, today.
Hatherly completed the seven laps, which covered 4.2km each, in a time of 1:21:22.

United States of America’s Christopher Blevins finished in second place, with Netherlands’ David Nordemann in third.
Fourth place went to Norway’s Petter Fagerhaug, with Denmark’s Jonas Lindberg in fifth.
SA’s Julian Jessop finished in 41th position.
