The U MTB Stage Race results: Oliver Munnik wins prologue

Oliver Munnik won the solo men’s race on the prologue stage of The U MTB Stage Race in Piketberg, Western Cape, yesterday.

He finished the 7.06km race in 24:24 ahead of Nico Pfitzenmaier (24:47) and Francois Theron (26:00).

Adrienne Moolman won the women’s race in 29:05, beating Nicole Murphy (33:54) and Christi Pienaar (35:36) to the finish.

Gavin Rossouw and Brett Chilcott set the lead in the men’s team event when they finished in 27:45. Second were Bobby Behan and Giniel de Villiers (28:40) with Graham Mccollum and Jakub Sadzik (28:47) in third.

The women’s team category was won by Megan Skowno and Ingrid Peens (35:48), followed by Sarah Sonneberg and Philippa Sales (53:56).

Dave and Caren Mills (32:55) claimed the victory in the mixed event. They were followed by Martin and Michelle Lombardi (33:09) with Nichol Jordaan and Jana Kruger (33:53) rounding out the podium.
