Next year’s four-stage Panorama Tour will introduce an elite category when the event starts in Casterbridge, White River, on June 15.
This inclusion allows two elite cyclists to ride together in a team.
If it is a CSA (Cycling South Africa) registered pro-team of six or more, three or more teams of two riders each can be entered.
The rules state that only the riders who are together may help each other and there are no team vehicles allowed.
Elite and U23 licensed riders are allowed to only ride in this elite category and only one of the riders are required to have this licence.
The pro category will start their stages 30 minutes before the rest of the field.
The race consists of a 111.5km, 104km and 72km stage, as well as a 32km time-trial.
