South Africa’s Timothy Hammond and Alan Gordon finished third on the 69km first stage of The Pioneer in Queenstown, New Zealand, today.
The SPOT Africa-Insect Science pair completed the stage in 3:18:33. Sebastien Carabin and Ismael Ventura Sanchez won the race in 3:03:40, beating Michael Vink and Tim Rush into second.

Kate Fluker and Mark Williams won the mixed category in 3:37:42, while Amy Hollamby and Kate McIlroy took the spoils in the women’s team race in 3:55:23.
