South Africa’s Timothy Hammond and Alan Gordon placed third on stage four of The Pioneer in Bannockburn, New Zealand, today.
The SPOT Africa-Insect Science finished the 70km course in a time of 3:51:54. Michael Vink and Tim Rush won the stage, while James Williamson and Scott lyttle placed second.

The women’s race was won by Briony Mattocks and Brodie Chapman, with Amy Hollamby and Kate McIlroy in second. Erin Greene and Hannah Miller completed the podium.
SA’s Yolandi du Toit and Ben Melt Swanepoel placed third in the mixed race. Josie Wilcox and Joe Skerman were the winners, with Kate Fluker and Mark Williams second.
