Direct Energie’s Niccolo Bonifazio retained his yellow jersey after winning the 169km second stage of the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Okondja, Gabon, yesterday.
The Italian completed the stage in 4:04:23, beating Arkéa Samsic’s Andre Greipel (Germany) and Rwanda’s Bonaventure Uwizeyimana in a sprint finish.

ProTouch’s Rohan du Plooy was the highest-placed South African, crossing the line in 14th. He is currently lying in eighth on the general classification.
