Christo Carelsen and Samantha Sanders won the 55km feature race at the first Demacon MTB Series event in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, today.
Carelsen completed the race in 2:04:57, beating Franco Pelser by just under a minute. Gerrit de Vries rounded out the podium.

Sanders won the women’s race and finished third overall in 2:07:50, finishing ahead Kirsten-Leigh Gillespie and Claudia Slattery.
Tian van Pretson (1:07:23) and Jessica Svacha (1:24:42) were the respective winners in the 30km race.
