Arno du Toit sprinted to victory in the 80km Herald Cycle Tour MTB race in Addo today.
The DSV rider came out on top in a sprint finish against Imbuko-Giant’s Marco Joubert to win the race in 2:50:29. Nicol Carstens completed the podium.

Du Toit also claimed the King of the Mountains (KOM) title earlier in the race, shortly after he, Joubert, Nicol Carstens, Max Sullivan and Jason Meaton ascended the Zuurberg Pass climb together, averaging a speed of 27km/h.
The riders then took on a series of singletrack sections, before Du Toit and Joubert sprinted it out in the last 5km.
Mac Mac’s Yolande de Villiers won the women’s category in 3:04:02. She beat Sabine Spitz and Anriette Schoeman into second and third respectively.
Ryno Gerber (2:06:09) and Ashleigh Mayhead (2:26:36) took the victory in the 60km race.
