Entries for the Wines2Whales will traditionally open on Valentine’s Day, organisers announced yesterday.
Riders who took part in the 2018 event will have 24 hours before February 14 to beat the rush, while general entries open precisely a day later.
With the event acclaiming new owners this year, they have ensured further improvement on the general rider experience, according to Michael Flinn from Grandstand Management.
“Riders can expect us to continue to refine and evolve the events, with the riding and post-stage experiences our key focus,” Flinn said.
“Stay tuned for updates throughout the year as we announce subtle improvements to the route and race village.”
Entrants can choose from three options, the standard or luxury tent entries or the off-site option for riders wishing to stay in a bed-and-breakfast accommodation in Elgin Valley.
The Wines2Whales Chardonnay, which comprises the elite women’s starting batch, will kick-start the event and take place from October 25 to 27.
The Wines2Whales Pinotage, meant more for general entrants, will take place from October 29 to 31, while the featured elite men’s version, the Wines2Whales Shiraz, will take place from November 1 to 3.
