SCOTT-SRAM’s Nino Schurter and Lars Forster extended their lead after winning the 111km first stage of the Cape Epic, which started and finished at Hermanus High School today.
The Swiss pair beat Cannondale Factory Racing’s Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini into second. Bulls Legends’ Karl Platt and Alban Lakata rounded out the podium.

Specialized Foundation NAD’s Matt Beers and Alan Hatherly were the highest-placed South African team, finishing ninth and retaining their red African jersey.
