Daniel Felipe Martinez Poveda claimed the honours on 181.5km stage six of the Paris-Nice in La Bollène-Vésubie, France, today.
The Columbian, who rides for EF Education First, beat compatriot Miguel Angel Lopez Moreno (Astana Pro Team) and Frenchman Nicolas Edet (Cofidis Solutions Credits) after a late acceleration on top of the Col de Turini.
Team Sky’s Michal Kwiatkowski, who started the stage in the yellow jersey, cracked in the final few kilometres to surrender the overall lead to teammate Egan Bernal.
Bernal is followed by Belgian Philippe Gilbert, who leaped up the overall standings after a long-range breakaway that saw him finish ahead of all the general classification contenders. They are followed by Columbian Nairo Quintana.
