Cycling South Africa today released the names of the riders in the national team who will do duty at the African Continental Road Championships in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia, this weekend.
The South African contingent of WorldTour riders with Dimension Data – Ryan Gibbons, Jacques Janse van Rensburg, Nicholas Dlamini and Stefan de Bod – are among the elite men in the squad.

Gibbons in particular has been on top form this season, racking up several top-10 finishes in the Tour Down Under and UAE Tour since January.
The 24-year-old also finished second at the SA national champs behind Daryl Impey, who claimed his second consecutive national crown. De Bod rounded out the podium on that occasion.
Dlamini, who has become a climbing master and came close to securing the national road title this year, will be a pivotal player in the team.
ProTouch’s Rohan du Plooy, who said last week he was enjoying some of his best form ever after notable results in two African Tours, has also been included.
Renowned ProTouch sprinter and the inaugural national road cycling series champ last year, Jayde Julius, is also in the mix.
Last year’s national road champ Carla Oberholzer was selected among the elite women to take part in Ethiopia, as was back-to-back national time-trial champ Liezel Jordaan.
