Today’s stage featured a 188.1km route that started in Puigcerdà.

Schachmann crossed the finish line in a time of 4:25:45 and was followed home by Team Sunweb’s Michael Matthews and Dimension Data’s Ryan Gibbons.
Mitchelton-Scott’s Daryl Impey finished in fourth, with CCC’s Patrick Bevin in fifth.
Astana’s Miguel Angel Lopez retained his overall lead, with Mitchelton-Scott’s Adam Yates second and Movistar’s Nairo Quintana third.
