South Africa’s Mariske Strauss won the elite women’s race at the African Continental MTB Cross-Country Championships in Windhoek, Namibia, today.
She completed the six-lap course in 1:23:39 ahead of compatriots Cherie Redecker (1:25:39) and Candice Lill (1:26:33).

Zambia’s Anita Yama won the U23 event in 1:32:57 while SA’s Zandri Strydom came first in the junior race (0:59:18).
Second were fellow countrywomen Frances Janse van Rensburg (1:01:12) and Emma van Coller (1:05:04).
