Luke Chambers won solo men’s event on the opening stage of the Amohela Clarens MTB Classic in Clarens, Free State, today.
He finished the 64km race in 2:54:43 to beat Ross Kay-Hards (2:54:46) and Stefan Oberholzer (2:59:06).
The women’s event was won by Monica Glover in 3:14:10. Jodi Kearns (3:54:25) took second with Karin Joubert (3:55:57) rounding out the podium.
Ivor Hambeidge and Shaun Marais (3:07:42) claimed victory in the men’s team event. They were followed by Johannes Andries Greyling and Fanie Venter (3:53:46) with Luke and David Strachan (3:55:23) in third.
