Kim le Court was crowned the Mauritian national road-race champion after winning the elite ladies race on Saturday.
The 23-year-old will proudly wear this jersey when she returns to race for her South African team over the next 12 months.
“I’m super pleased and it’s an honour to represent my country elsewhere,” she said.
“It means a lot to me. To have the colour of my country on my shoulders and race with it represents a lot for me.”
The Demacon Max Wax rider added that she organised the national championships especially for Olympics qualification in order to obtain as many UCI points as she could.
“I would like to thank the ladies who were present there during the champs.”
