French cyclist Julian Alaphilippe sprinted to victory on stage two of the Tour of the Basque Country that finished after 149.5km in Gorraiz, Spain, today.
The Deceuninck–Quick-Step rider completed the stage, which kicked off in Zumarraga, in a time of 3:29:37.

Bjorg Lambrecht (Lotto-Soudal) placed second, with Michał Kwiatkowski (Team Sky) completing the podium.
Fourth place went to Omar Fraile (Astana Pro Team), while Valentin Madouas (Groupama-FDJ) finished fifth.
Alaphilippe picked up a 10-second time bonus for his win and places second overall, with Maximilian Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe) first and Kwiatkowski third.
“Today was a good stage for me and my team did a great job and I could finish in a nice way. It’s a pretty nice day,” said Alaphilippe.
