Neill Ungerer and Yolande de Villiers increased their overall lead in the mixed event when they won stage two of Trek2Teebus in Steynsburg, Eastern Cape, today.
They completed the 55km race in 2:12:37 to beat Christo Roos and Tanya Kirstein (2:30:50). Irmarie Venter and Fritz Pienaar came third in 2:56:00.
The men’s team race was won by Frik Beeslaar and Charles Kros in 2:56:31. They finished ahead of Andrew Taylor and Graham Barrett (3:02:24) with Nikie and Willie Pelser (3:24:40) in third.
Zane Coetzee and Anel Strampe (3:36:05) won the women’s team event ahead of Marelise Wilson and Elana du Plessis (4:37:03). Third were Marie and Vienie Botha (5:08:18).
Charl Coetzee (2:12:39) claimed his second victory in the solo men’s category. He was followed by Henties de Villiers (2:30:43) and Willie Richteer (2:34:39).
Hanli Cilliers led the women’s race home when she finished in 2:43:05. Second was Rialette Kruger (3:10:39) with Jolene Matthysen (3:41:48) completing the podium.
