Andrew Hill and Shaun-Nick Bester enjoyed a 86km neutral day on stage nine of the joBerg2c in Scottburgh, KwaZulu-Natal, today.
The Darkhorse Wheels-Insured by TIB duo, who already won the men’s title after stage eight yesterday, finished in an overall time of 35:06:14 ahead of Luke Evans and Sage Racing’s Craig Uria (36:31:38). Third were Sylvains’ Julian Gavillet and Ecoffey Sylvain (36:47:52).
Women’s champions Sarah Hill and Theresa Ralph of Galileo Risk completed their tour in 38:38:08. Second were Seattle Speed’s Auralia Edwards and Gina Wills (45:30:19) with Crazy Nam Gals’ Sandra Lippert and Heather Craemer (50:59:07) in third.
Dormakaba’s Michael Posthumus and Amy McDougall, who won the mixed event, completed the race in 36:39:07. In second were Garmin’s Ben Melt Swanepoel and Yolandi du Toit (39:57:55), followed by Ekibike-Dupasquier Sports’ Overney Corinne and Vincent Flueck (41:49:02).
Solo men’s winner Matthys Beukes finished in 34:29:56. HB Kruger (35:59:45) came second with Kristof Sterckx (38:18:30) rounding out the podium.
Sandra Hart, who claimed the women’s title, completed the event in 40:18:28, followed by Monica Glover (42:03:30) and Yvette Roberts (44:09:44).
