Louis Visser won the men’s feature race at the Meiringspoort Mountain Bike Challenge in De Rust today.
He (2:23:17) finished ahead of Jan Paul Gerber (2:26:18) and Immaneul Bekker (2:34:39) in the 61.5km event.
Jean Marie Roelofse claimed the women’s title in 3:08:59. She was followed by Robyn Assad (3:16:48) and Gertie Joubert (3:27:33).
The 31km men’s race was won by Matthew Leppan in 1:06:35. Second was Johannes Moolman (1:06:36) while Andre Roode (1:15:28) placed third.
Kirsten Roelofse (1:17:35) finished first in the women’s category while Alissa Coetzer (1:26:40) and Elzaan van Blerk (1:29:50) rounded out the podium.
Louis Venter (46:09) took the honours in the 19.5km men’s race to beat Ruan Lampbrecht (47:16) and Kevin Saayman (47:34).
Jolanda Smith led the women’s race home in 1:01:21. Milan Rennie (1:06:36) came in second, followed by Susan du Plessis (1:08:38).
