Gawie Combrinck rode to victory in the solo men’s Race to the Sun mountain bike race at Sun City in North West today.
Combrinck, who announced his retirement from professional cycling last month, completed the 167km event in 4:50:15. He was followed home by Pieter du Toit (4:51:01) and former NAD Pro teammate Nico Bell 4:51:01.
Joanna van de Winkel claimd the women’s victory in 5:31:10 to beat Fiddy Gey van Pittius (5:35:06) and Marisa van der Linde (5:40:40).
