Italian Elia Viviani won stage four of the Tour de Suisse in Arlesheim, Switzerland, today.
Michael Matthews (Team Sunweb) crossed the line in second, with race leader Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) third. The latter also retains the yellow jersey and leads the points classification.
Matthews is second on the general classification, with Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-QuickStep), who is also the leading young rider, third.
“We were hoping it will come down to a bunch sprint and were keen on trying again after finishing second yesterday,” said Viviani.
“Today’s victory means a lot to me and makes me extremely happy.”
