South African Dian Fritz placed fifth on stage one of the Junior Tour of Ireland in Barefield yesterday.
The 48km stage was won by Eli Husted, with Seth Callahan second and Nick Carter third.
Fourth place went to Quinn Simmons.
The second stage will cover 94km between Ennis and Kilkee.
