Candice Lill secured the elite women’s title at the South African MTB XCO National Championships in Johannesburg, Gauteng, today.
Lill finished the five-lap race in 1:16:32 to beat defending champion Mariske Strauss (1:17:20) and Cherie Redecker (1:22:29).
Tiffany Keep, who finished in 1:26:06, was crowned the under 23 champion ahead of Danielle Strydom (1:31:12).
The junior race saw Zandri Strydom (1:08:49) ride to victory in the four-lap event. Emma van Coller (1:15:07) finished second while Frances Janse van Rensburg (1:15:39) rounded out the podium.
