Italian Matteo Trentin took his third Tour de France stage win when he soloed to victory in Gap today.
The Mitchelton-Scott rider won the 17th stage, which covered 200km, in 4:21:36.
Kasper Asgreen (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) crossed the line 37 seconds later, with Greg van Avermaet (CCC Team) third.
Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) keeps the yellow jersey going into the 18th stage and has a 1:35 lead over Geraint Thomas (Team Ineos). Steven Kruijswijk (Team Jumbo-Visma) is third overall.
Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) still leads the points classification, with Elia Viviani (Deceuninck-QuickStep) second and Sonny Colbrelli (Bahrain-Merida) third.
Tim Wellens (Lotto Soudal) is the king of the mountains leader, while Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) and Thomas de Gendt (Lotto Soudal) are second and third respectively.
The young riders classification leader is Egan Bernal (Team Ineos), with David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ) second and Enric Mas (Deceuninck-QuickStep) completing the podium.
