The 106th edition started in Brussels on July 6 and ended in Paris 21 stages later.
Mike Teunissen (Team Jumbo-Visma) took the first yellow jersey of the Tour, with Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck-Quick-Step) taking the lead on stage three. He lost the jersey on stage six to Giulio Ciccone (Trek-Segafredo), before claiming it back two stages later.
He had the yellow jersey for the next 11 stages, before Egan Bernal (Team Ineos) won it on stage 19.
Bernal kept his lead in the last two stages to win overall, while his teammate and defending champion Geraint Thomas placed second and Steven Kruijswijk (Team Jumbo-Visma) third.
Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe) won the points jersey, with Romain Bardet (AG2R La Mondiale) taking the mountains classification. Bernal also won the best young rider jersey.
