The Swiss, who completed the seven-lap event in 1:19:34, beat compatriot Mathias Flueckiger (1:19:36) and Brazilian Henrique Avancini (1:19:46) to the line.
South Africa’s Alan Hatherly finished 27th in 1:23:01.
