Marc Adam secured the victory in the solo men’s prologue on day one of the Darling Hills Mountain Bike Stage Race in Darling, Western Cape, yesterday.

He was followed by Andre Joubert and Jamian Soldaat just over 20 seconds later.
Willemien le Roux was the first woman home in the 20km event while the men’s team competition was won by Hannes Kotze and Cilliers Martin.
Robert and Philip Jankielsohn finished second with Deon Wilkins and Pieter Carstens third.
Naomi and Ewan Potgieter topped the mixed race ahead of Jurgen Orzessek and Sharon Miller.
FC Serdyn and Chriszelda Walters rounded out the podium while Marinda and Wilna Marais won the women’s team race.
