France’s Pauline Ferrand Prevot claimed victory in the elite women’s cross-country race at the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Mont-Sainte-Anne, Canada, yesterday.
Switzerland’s Jolanda Neff finished 43 seconds later, with Australia’s Rebecca McConnell third.
Netherland’s Anne Terpstra placed fourth, with America’s Kate Courtney completing the top five.
South Africa’s Cherie Redecker and Candice Lill placed 36th and 37th respectively.
“I’m just so emotional and happy with this win. I had a great preparation; my season has been building and building. This week I felt amazing,” said Prevot.
