American Megan Jastrab won the junior women’s road race at the UCI Road World Championships in Harrogate, England, today.
Jastrab sprinted to victory in 2:08:00.
Belgium’s Julie de Wilde secured second place, with the Netherlands’ Lieke Nooijen third.
Russia’s Aigul Gareeva crossed the line in fourth, while Great Britain’s Elynor Backstedt completed the top five.
“I can’t believe it. I’m just so grateful for my teammates,” said Jastrab.
“They were there from beginning to end and I just couldn’t lose after their efforts.”
