Berg & Bush ‘Descent’ stage three results & GC: Botha & Bell take spoils

October 6, 2019, 12:18 pm By In the Bunch

Wessel Botha and Nico Bell claimed the Berg & Bush spoils after they won stage three of the mountain bike event in Winterton, KwaZulu-Natal, today.

They beat Philip Buys and Matthys Beukes by three seconds, while Pieter du Toit and Phillimon Sebona, almost seven minutes later, claimed third.

Amy McDougall and Robyn de Groot, who also won the final stage, finished over six minutes ahead of Sarah Hill and Theresa Ralph. Third were Nina Hind and Robyn Assad.

“It feels good to be racing hard and getting the results,” said De Groot.

“I feel great, I have one more race left for the year, and I don’t really feel like taking a break. I’m thrilled to have ridden so well this weekend. Riding with Amy was also great fun. She knows the trails so well here, so I just let her show me the way.”
