Christo Carelsen and Thulani Gule won the men’s team event on a wet stage one of the Swazi Frontier mountain bike race in Mbabane yesterday.
The pair beat Sihle Dlamini and Lungelo Mlangeni by one second. William Kelly and Sihawu Dlamini completed the 55km race in third.
The women’s event saw Claudia Slattery and Bonny Swanepoel claim the honours ahead of Rebecca Sands and Mariette de Jager.
Gert and Annelize Muller were the first to finish the mixed race, while Inge and Brandon Zietsman had to settle for second. They were followed by Kristien Velding and Sandor Klis.
