The U MTB Stage Race – prologue results: Timothy Hammond makes his mark

Timothy Hammond made his mark in the solo men’s competition when he won the prologue at The U MTB Stage Race in Piketberg, Western Cape, today.

Second in the 7km event was Oli Munnik, followed by Andrew Skowno.

The women’s race saw Michelle Lombardi ride to victory, while Tanya Rabie and Lizl Hobson took second and third.

The men’s team competition was topped by Jakub Sadzik and Graham McCollum. Andrew McPherson and Lieuwe Boonstra finished second with Jako van Heerden and Matthys Theron in third.

Mia and Dawie de Villiers claimed victory in the mixed race to beat Aileen Anderson and Walter Brosius. Third were Andre le Grange and Rosemary Jordaan.

The women’s event was won by Megan Skowno and Ingrid Peens. They were followed by Claudia Schonitz & Diane Obree.
