Kevin Benkenstein and Thinus Redelinghuys made a cordial agreement to share first place when they reached the finish line of The Munga at the Doolhof Wine Estate in Wellington last night.
The decision was made by the two of them after realising that neither could hold a break.
In the spirit of the event they agreed to not sprint on the singletrack and rather share the spoils.
Marco Martins, the 2017 champion, arrived just under six hours later.
Anri Parker was the first woman home, with Elaine Beytell finishing just over five hours later. Nicky Booyens arrived at the finish in third.
