The annual Stellenbosch Cycle Tour, which was scheduled for today, has been cancelled due to extreme weather conditions.
The announcement of the cancellation was made earlier today on their social media page.
Though they have stated yesterday that the race would still continue, the severe weather conditions proved too dangerous by their Risk Assessment Committee.
They stated that the decision to cancel was not made lightly, and that the safety of the riders is of paramount importance to them.
More information to follow.
