South African para cyclist Juan Odendaal, whose heart stopped beating while cycling on February 1, believes God gave him a second chance when his life was saved.

The 23-year-old remembers going for a cycle early that Saturday morning. He was planning on doing just a short route around Menlyn, but somehow ended up in Irene.
According to security officials, Odendaal stopped at a residential complex in the area. He looked anxious and started breathing abnormally while trying to phone someone, before collapsing. He also turned blue in the face.
