Jan-Paul Gerber snatched victory by less than a second in the Oubos MTB Marathon in George today.

Gerber won the men’s 75km race in a time of 3:14:54, narrowly beating Marthinus Esmeyer into second place. Neill Clark completed the podium.
Catherine Williamson was the winner of the women’s 75km race, followed by Shauna Esmeyer in second and Fransonette Heydenreich in third.
The winner of the men’s 50km race was Matthew Leppan, while Zandre Gerber and Dehan Nagel came second and third respectively.
Coming first in the women’s 50km race was Zoe Arndt, followed by Ryna Heyns in second, with Riette Prinsloo third.
