Matthew Volek and Brennan Anderson completed the podium.
“There were good trails all-round,” said Hill, who rides for TIB Insurance. “It was a nice mixture of some technical trails, open flowing roads and some big climbs.
“I went into the race to try and use it as a great springboard going into the end of the year and to enjoy myself.
“We haven’t had much enjoyment this year with the lack of racing due to Covid, but I think going into the end of the year it’s great to have these events and enjoy ourselves. It’s the reason why we ride our mountain bikes.”
Tanja Schutte won the women’s race ahead of Riley Smith and Iliska Verwey.
