South Africa’s entrants in the men’s elite individual time-trial at the African Continental Road Championships will only be confirmed once the team assembles in Cairo, Egypt.
Cycling South Africa confirmed to In the Bunch that the final selections will only be made once the entire team has arrived in the North African country.
This year’s African champs will take place from March 2 to 6.
Those riders based in South Africa will depart on Saturday and fly via Doha, Qatar, to Egypt.
When the squad was named for the annual championships, it was noted that the two men’s elite ITT entrants would be confirmed at a later date.
