This year’s African Continental Road Championships will take place in Cairo, Egypt, from March 2 to 6.
The best of the best on the African continent will once again have the opportunity to vie for gold after last year’s championships in Mauritius were cancelled due to Covid-19.
Organisers have mapped out a 13km circuit for the championships with riders completing multiple laps depending on the overall race distance.
The schedule for the five-day championships is as follows:
Tuesday, March 2
Junior men and women: TTT – 13km (one lap)
Elite men and women, U23 men and women: TTT – 39km (three laps)
Wednesday, March 3
Junior men and women: ITT – 13km (one lap)
Elite men and women, U23 men and women: ITT – 26km (two laps)
Thursday, March 4
Elite and U23: Mixed relay – 26km (two laps) per gender, 52km (four laps) overall
Friday, March 5
Junior women: Road race – 65km (five laps)
Junior men: Road race – 91km (seven laps)
Saturday, March 6
Elite and U23 women: Road race – 91km (seven laps)
Elite and U23 men: Road race – 156km (12 laps)
