Danish former world champion Mads Pedersen won a thrilling Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne race today.
The 25-year-old, who won the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, England, triumphed in a sprint finish after 197km of racing.
France’s Anthony Turgis (Total Direct Energie) finished second with Ineos’ Tom Pidcock in third.
Dutch star Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Fenix) battled bravely in a breakaway to hold off the chasing pack but was eventually caught with 1.5km to go.
