Primoz Roglic demonstrated his class with a potentially race-winning victory on stage four of Paris-Nice today.
The Slovenian Jumbo-Visma rider attacked with 3km remaining on the 188km stage which concluded on the category one summit of Chiroubles.
With no cohesion in the chasing pack, Roglic was left to solo to victory, taking the lead of the race in the process.
Defending champion Maximilian Schachmann finished second, 12 seconds adrift, with Guillaume Martin in third.
Overnight leader Stefan Bissegger crossed the line over eight minutes down on Roglic.
Roglic now holds a 35-second overall lead over Schachmann at the halfway point of the eight-day race.
It was another bad day for Team Ineos who saw Tao Geoghegan Hart crash out of the race. The British team earlier lost Richie Porte in another crash.
Thursday’s stage five will see the riders cover 203km from Vienne to Bollene.
