Marc Pritzen upset a number of more seasoned compatriots at the SA National Road Championships in Swellendam last Sunday when he won both the elite and U23 road race titles.
The victory for 21-year-old, who rides for Qhubeka-Assos’ UCI Continental team based in Lucca, Italy, saw him claim the biggest win of his career to date.
A former winner of the 947 Ride Joburg as well as a stage victor at the Tour of Good Hope in 2019, Pritzen will now wear the South African jersey when he returns to Europe.
Having had a few days to reflect on his exploits in the Western Cape town, Pritzen detailed his emotions standing on the podium as well as what the future holds.
