The inaugural Race across Mzansi, takes place from April 2 to 10 and promises to be an epic adventure through some of the most beautiful terrain from Johannesburg to Cape Town.
There will be 5 race categories, Open Men, Veteran Men, Masters Men, Open Woman and Mixed. There will be race leaders jerseys each day for the leaders in all categories. Race leaders jerseys will be awarded every evening at the dinner prize giving.
Stage one will cover 166km from Krugersdorp to Klerksdorp with a total ascent of 420m; stage two is held over 144km from Klerksdorp to Bloemhof and has a total ascent of 475m; stage three from Bloemhof to Kimberley will take place over 163km and has a total ascent of 368m; stage four will cover 174km from Kimberley to Strydenburg with a total ascent of 424m while stage five will take place over 164km from Britstown to Three Sisters with a total ascent of 676m.
Some highlights of the event include the beautiful plains of the North West and Free State, the rugged Karoo, the awe-inspiring Meirings Poort, stunning Route 62 and legendary climbs like the Huys Rivier Pass and Bainskloof.
