The 100 early bird entries for the Absa Cape Epic was sold out in just seconds yesterday.
“It was pretty much instantaneous,” said race founder Kevin Vermaak.
“A lot of people were ready and counting the seconds until they opened at 3pm.”
“There were over 500 hopefuls who completed the early bird form, but they clicked the ‘submit’ button a fraction too late,” said Vermaak.
Those who missed out on an early bird entry can apply through the lottery system, which opened on the Absa Cape Epic website – www.cape-epic.com – as soon as the early bird process was completed.
Successful lottery entrants will be notified at the beginning of June.
Another way to ensure an entry is to work as a volunteer – you secure a guaranteed entry for the next year.
The cost of an entry for 2015 is R53 700 per team.
