Entries for the 22nd Coronation Double Century will open at 1pm on July 30.
Cyclists are encouraged to enter early to avoid disappointment as only 200 teams of up to 12 riders each will be allowed to participate.
Entries will close as soon as this limit has been reached.
The highly-anticipated team cycling event will take place on Saturday, November 22, when roughly 2 000 riders will tackle the challenging 202km route that starts and ends in the quaint town of Swellendam.
David Bellairs, a director of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust (CTCTT), says: “The Coronation Double Century is one of the most popular team cycling events on the South African cycling calendar.
“Last year we celebrated its momentous 21st birthday with the fastest win in the history of the race. We have no doubt that this year’s event will offer equally satisfying riding conditions, cycling quality and outstanding results.”
The CTCTT organises the annual event on behalf of the Pedal Power Association.
