Dylan Girdlestone has been offered a trainee spot on the UCI WorldTour team, Garmin-Sharp, from August.
Lange Sports has achieved a major breakthrough in their Aspire program with this news.
The Lange Sports Aspire program is part of a vision of Malcolm Lange to provide springboards for South African riders to reach the highest levels of the sport internationally.
Riders are sent for periods of time to Europe in partnership with clubs over there to learn and be seen by the big teams.
Dylan affirmed his talent with just such a stint in Europe recently and convinced Robert Hunter’s Garmin-Sharp team to give him a chance.
Robert Hunter had this to say: “It is certainly great to see Lange Sports supporting riders to go abroad and race and thereby making it possible to be offered such opportunities as we have been able to give to Dylan.”
